Kovacevic, de Negri And Adams Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Three Ball State men's tennis players have earned all-conference honors. Juniors Danilo Kovacevic and Thibault de Negri each earned first team all-conference accolades while senior Chris Adams was named a second-team honoree.
Kovacevic and de Negri played at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in singles and doubles for Ball State this past season. Kovacevic closed out the year with an overall singles mark of 16-6 including 8-2 in conference matches. de Negri also found success this season, closing out spring play with a 14-7 overall record while registering a 7-3 league mark. Both players earned MAC Singles and Doubles Player of the Week Honors throughout the season. Â
Adams has been successful for the Cardinals over his four-year tenure both on and off the court. Academically, he has held a 4.0 grade point average in accounting all four years at Ball State. The recent graduate was third team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2020 as well as academic all-district. Adams earned player of the week honors this year in both singles and doubles. He finished his career at Ball State 52-43 in singles play and 52-37 in doubles. He primarily played on the top court for doubles throughout his career and on court three in singles.Â
Kovacevic, de Negri and Adams helped lead Ball State to back-to-back weeks in the ITA Division I Men's Tennis Top 50Â along with the program's first win over Notre Dame in longer than a decade. As a team, the Cardinals closed out their season with an overall record of 17-5 (6-4 MAC).
