Men’s Volleyball Wraps Up Two Game MIVA Series At No. 5 Lewis
March 06, 2021 | Men's Volleyball
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Ball State men's volleyball team wrapped up its two-game Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) series Saturday night at No. 5 Lewis in Neil Carey Arena.
Unfortunately, it just wasn't in the cards for the Cardinals (7-4, 4-3 MIVA) this weekend falling again to the Flyers (10-2, 5-2 MIVA) by a score of 3-0.
It's always a challenge to win on the road, especially at Lewis. The Flyers have only lost one match this season on their court and after tonight's victory they improved to 7-1 at home.
Ball State struggled early on and Lewis took advantage of the situation. After winning the opening set 25-13 the Flyers just flew on by the Cardinals the remainder of the competition taking sets two and three from Ball State.
Six different Cardinals registered kills tonight with Kaleb Jenness leading the squad again offensively with eight. He also registered two service aces against the Flyers.
On the bright side of things, the Cardinals are a veteran team that will be able to regroup this week during practice before heading to Ohio State on Thursday, March 11 for a 6 p.m. ET first serve in Columbus, Ohio. This will be a rematch between the two rivals in less than two weeks. The Cardinals recently fell in a five-set thriller against the Buckeyes in Worthen Arena on Feb. 27.
