Sprinters Impress In Debut Outdoor Meet

BLIZZARD BUSTER FINAL RESULTS
Oxford, Ohio - The 4x100 meter relay squad shined and Alexis Thigpen captured an individual win as the Ball State track & field team opened its outdoor season this weekend at Miami's Blizzard Buster.
The relay team of Ivy McKee, Bryeana Byrdsong, MaQuila Norman and Michelle Lehmann clocked a 45.53 to win the day and also post one of the top 4x100 times in the nation. Currently, the 45.53 mark by the Cardinals is the 12th-fastest time in the country and tops in the conference. Only 14 relay teams in the country have broken 46 seconds.
Thigpen, in her first outdoor meet for BSU, won the 400m race at 56.82. She won by nearly a full second over the second-place finisher.
In addition to her leg in the 4x100, Norman captured second in the 200m (25.17). Byrdsong also had a runner-up individual performance, placing second in the 100m by a mere .03 seconds.
In the distance events, the 4x800m relay team placed second with a time of 9:29.19.
BSU heads to the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina March 25-27.
