
Women's Basketball Heads To Miami Saturday In MAC Play

Opening Tip:
• Saturday's game against Miami will mark the 69th time in program history the two schools have met with the RedHawks leading the all-time series 40-28. Ball State won its first meeting against Miami this season on Jan. 27 in Worthen Arena by a 85-82 decision. The Cardinals have won two of their last three contests against the RedHawks.
• Since the 1989-90 season, the Cardinals have won 19 of the last 29 meetings against the RedHawks. Out of all the Ball State women's basketball coaches, Brady Sallee owns the best record over Miami at 9-1.Â
• The RedHawks are the closest MAC school in proximity to Ball State. The distance from Millett Hall to Worthen Arena is exactly 76 miles door-to-door.
• Both teams are looking to snap losing streaks on Saturday as Ball State has lost three in a row and the RedHawks have dropped their last two contests. Recently, BSU fell at home to Ohio (66-88) while Miami just suffered a 78-81 loss in Oxford to Central Michigan Wednesday.
• Senior forward Oshlynn Brown currently ranks fifth in the nation in rebounds (12.4) and 10th in defensive rebounds 8.6. She is 16th in double-doubles with nine this season. Brown is currently third on the list of active NCAA DI double-double leaders with 42.
1,000 Points, 1,000 Rebounds:
Senior Oshlynn Brown currently has 1,330 career points and 992Â rebounds. Brown needs eight rebounds to hit 1,000. Brown will become only the second player in Ball State women's basketball history to reach 1,000 points and rebounds. Former Cardinal Emma Jones (1984-87) so far is the lone player in program history to get 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Senior forward Oshlynn Brown is moving up the all-time rebounds list at Ball State she is currently third all-time with 992 rebounds and needs two to take sole possession of second which is held by former Cardinal Jessica Reiter (2001-04) with 985 rebounds. Brown needs 37 rebounds to become the BSU's all-time leader in that category which is currently owned by for Cardinal Emma Jones (1984-87) with 1,028 rebounds.Â
Next Game:
The Cardinals remain on the road Wednesday, Feb. 17 when Ball State travels to Buffalo for a 5 p.m. ET start in University Arena. Ironically, Ball State will then return to Worthen Arena on Feb. 20 to take on the Bulls again at 1 p.m. ET. That game is a makeup contest due to its original postpoment because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
