Cardinals Host Falcons, Visit Rockets

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State soccer team returns to the friendly confines of the Briner Sports Complex on Thursday for a rematch of last spring's MAC Championship. The Cardinals welcome the Falcons of Bowling Green for a contest before BSU takes to the road for another MAC matchup at Toledo on Sunday.
Earlier this week, Lexi Fraley was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week after a two-goal performance against Akron. The Cardinals enter Thursday's matchup with a 4-5-1 record and are 2-1-1 in conference play. Chelcy Ralph leads the team with eight points with four goals. Melissa Diceman, Nicky Potts, and Fraley are tied for second with four points. Alex DeRuvo has started every game in net for BSU and has a 4-5-1 record and has made 33 saves on the season.
Ball State holds a 15-5-4 series lead of Bowling Green, but the Falcons are 2-1-1 in the last four meetings. In last spring's MAC Championship BGSU bested BSU 2-1 in Bowling Green. She has stopped 46 shots and has notched two shutouts on the year.
