Men’s Tennis Closes Day One At Ball State Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team was forced to begin its 37th Fall Invitational indoors today due to inclement weather. The Cardinals are hosting Butler, IUPUI and Marquette.
Today's competition was a combination of singles and doubles matches. In the A Singles Flight, Danilo Kovacevic, Nathaniel Webster and Thibault de Negri all advanced to Saturday's winners' bracket.
The Cardinals also had three players move onto Saturday's quarterfinal round in the B Singles Flight after Abe Wojtalik, Vince Orlando and Petar Petrovic defeated their respective opponents.
After singles, there were two rounds of doubles in which two Ball State duos moved onto the winners' bracket.
Kovacevic and Chris Adams took down IUPUI's Blessing Benibo and partner Noah Viste by a score of 6-4 in the Doubles A bracket. Also, in B Doubles the BSU twosome of Wojtalik and Petrovic took down Marquette's Pablo Dale and Nathan Balthazor, 6-3.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues action at its fall invite on Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m. ET.
