
Men’s Tennis Earns Eighth Straight ITA Academic Team Award

MUNCIE, Ind. - The 2019-20 Ball State University men's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after earning a 3.5 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale. This marks the eighth straight year the Cardinals have earned the team honor.
In addition, six members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades -- juniors Chris Adams (4.0) and Bryce Bonin (3.7), along with freshmen Eli Herran (3.8), Vince Orlando (3.9), Parrish Simmons (3.6) and Abe Wojtalik (4.0). Both Adams and Bonin are three- time recipients of the award.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2019 and spring 2020).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
