May 21, 2020 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State's Chris Adams was one of only two student-athletes in the Mid-American Conference to find his name on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team Thursday afternoon.
Adams, a junior men's tennis player from Port Huron, Michigan, spent the abbreviated spring season at No. 1 doubles for the Cardinals and split time between No. 1 and No. 2 singles. He finished the year 5-4 in singles dual matches and 6-4 in doubles. In the classroom, Adams carries a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in accounting. He was his high school's valedictorian before coming to Ball State in the fall of 2017.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Ball State is a member of CoSIDA's District 5 which includes Division I schools in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The at-large men's sports feature fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Adams will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot. That award will be announced on Friday, June 19. For more information on the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, please visit AcademicAllAmerica.com on CoSIDA.com.
