Women’s Golf Sits Middle of the Pack at Jackrabbit Invitational

Tiegan Taylor leads Cardinals on 36-hole day in Boulder City
LEADERBOARD
BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- The Ball State women's golf team finds itself in the middle of the pack at the two-thirds point of the Jackrabbit Invitational.
With scoring conditions becoming more challenging as Monday's 36-hole day progressed at Boulder Creek Golf Club, the Cardinals hung in eighth place in the 14-team field. BSU posted team rounds of 315 and 324 for a total of 639.
Tournament host South Dakota State sits atop the leaderboard at 601, six shots clear of second-place Boston College with one round left. Madeline Jin of Boston College holds the individual lead at 3 under par as the only one of the 80 players in red figures.
Tiegan Taylor led Ball State in the morning round with a 76, while Manon Tounalom paced the Cardinals in the afternoon with a 78 as scoring averages for the field ballooned. Both players are in the top 25 with Taylor (+14) tied for 21st and Tounalom (+15) tied for 24th.
Morgan Lewis (T32) and Hadley Moritz (T42) also provided counting scores in both rounds. Emily Knouff, competing as an individual, is tied for 38th.
Ball State will look to make up some ground in Tuesday's final round which begins with a 7:45 PT (10:45 ET) shotgun start. The Cardinals will begin the day within 11 shots of the top 5.
