Men’s Tennis Opens Spring Break Trip Against No. 35 Pepperdine

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Ball State men's tennis team faced No. 35 Pepperdine Thursday night at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Center, losing to the Waves 6-1. Eli Herran won at the No. 6 singles position for Ball State for its lone point.
The Cardinals (7-5) fell to the Waves (11-0) in doubles action at the start of the match, losing on courts one and three, respectively. Thibault De Negri and Parrish Simmons were knotted at 5-5 against Pepperdine's No. 2 duo of Corrado Summaria and Tim Zeitvogel.
In singles action, No. 35 Pepperdine took five of the six courts from Ball State. Herran was the lone Cardinal to win a match over the Waves at position six. Herran earned the first set tiebreaker over Pawel Jankowiak 7-6 and then took the second frame by a score of 6-4.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its spring break competing in the La Jolla Pacific Coast Doubles Championship before closing its spring break trip out West against UC San Diego on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
