Jenness Named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State outside attacker Kaleb Jenness has been named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a pair of victories against Ohio State and Sacred Heart.
Jenness registered his sixth 20-kill performance against the Buckeyes in a 3-1 win. The sophomore also added one assist, one ace, one block and 10 digs as the Cardinals picked up a big MIVA win on the road. It was the first time BSU won at Ohio State since 2016.
Later in the week against Sacred Heart, the South Carolina native put down 13 kills on a .500 attacking percentage. Ten digs and two blocks also helped the Cardinals earn the sweep and win their third-straight match.
For the week, Jenness totaled 33 kills, one assist, one ace, 20 digs and three blocks.
Ball State's next contest is Friday when the Cardinals welcome Lincoln Memorial to Muncie. The match will be played at Ball State's recreation center at 7 p.m. ET. Admission is free.
