Eastern Michigan has opened the season 1-1 posting a 65-52 victory at Southern Illinois last Wednesday and then fell at home to UIC Sunday by a score of 62-66.
- The last time Ball State and Eastern Michigan faced off was right before the COVID-19 global pandemic shut basketball down last March. The Cardinals suffered a heartbreaking 63-64 loss to the Eagles in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Mid-American Conference Tournament on March 11 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Sallee vs. The State of Michigan:
Ball State is 34-19 against Michigan schools during head coach Brady Sallee's seven seasons after beating Detroit Mercy (twice), Western Michigan (13 times), Eastern Michigan (11 times), Central Michigan (six times) and Oakland University (twice).
Brown Preseason All-MAC:
Senior Oshlynn Brown was selected for the second straight season as a member of the 2020-21 preseason All-Mid-American Conference Team. Brown enters her senior season with 1,088 points, 836 rebounds, 33 double-doubles, 40 double-digit rebounding performances and 58 double-digit scoring games. Last year she was tabbed First Team All-MAC and earned MAC West Division Player of the Week accolades four times.Â

MAC Success:
- Under the direction of ninth-year head coach Brady Sallee, the Cardinals have had a wealth of success during MAC action. Sallee entered this conference season with 90-52 (.633) career MAC record. The Cardinals have punched their ticket straight to Cleveland in the MAC Tournament six out of eight times under Sallee and have reached the championship game twice. Ball State earned a MAC West Division title in 2014-15 and has reached postseason play six times including making it to the round of 16 at the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in Sallee's inaugural year.
- The Cardinals have placed players on the postseason award list for the last eight seasons including the MAC Player of The Year Nathalie Fontaine in 2016. Prior to this season, junior forward Oshlynn Brown was named to the preseason All-MAC squad. Brown currently leads the Cardinals in scoring (14.0) and rebounding (9.9). A Cardinal Win Would:
- Give Brady Sallee his 150th career victory.
- Give Ball State its first Mid-American Conference win of the season.
- Give Brady Sallee his 12th win over the Eagles.
