MUNCIE, Ind. - The 2019-20 Ball State women's basketball team took to the floor Tuesday for its first practice of the season.
"Always an exciting time of the year if you're a basketball coach, player or fan," Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee said. "We are excited to turn the page from the preseason and start laying the foundation that we need to achieve the success we are all in search of each and every year! This should be an exciting group."
Sallee has guided the Cardinals to a wealth of success over his eight-year tenure. Under his guidance, Ball State has made six appearances in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) and posted three seasons of at least 20 wins. Sallee is also the winningest head coach in program history with 128 victories.
The Cardinals' roster this season includes four freshmen, one transfer and 10 veterans. Ball State returns All-Mid-American Conference performer Oshlynn Brown for her junior season and MAC All-Freshman Team selection Thelma Dis Agustdottir for her sophomore campaign.
Ball State welcomes four true freshmen to the team in Sydney Freeman, Anna Gamarra, Estel Puiggros and Annie Rauch, along with transfer Arbrie Benson.
Ball State's typical practice slot is from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Shondell Center. Two days prior to games, the team will shift practice to Worthen Arena. Practice times will vary during the season due to travel and game days.
The Cardinals officially open their season Nov. 5 at IUPUI and will continue on the road at Purdue Fort Wayne (Nov. 12) and Cincinnati (Nov. 16) before returning home to Worthen Arena to host Xavier for the team's annual Field Trip Day beginning at 11:30 a.m.
