Plitt Named MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. -- On the heels of his career-best performance in last week's win over Fordham, Ball State quarterback Drew Plitt was selected as the MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Plitt torched the Rams for 439 yards and a school-record-tying six touchdown passes last Saturday. He led a BSU offensive attack that rolled up nearly 600 total yards on the way to a 57-29 victory at Scheumann Stadium.

The redshirt junior, in his first year as the full-time starter, owns a 3.605 GPA in Ball State's accounting program. He was an Academic All-MAC selection last fall.

Plitt was also named the MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week for his effort in the Fordham game. He will lead the Cardinals into Saturday's Family Weekend matchup with Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. from Scheumann Stadium on ESPN+.
