Field Hockey Releases 2019 Schedule

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State head field hockey coach Stephanie Bernthal, who enters her second season at the helm of the Cardinals, has announced the team's 2019 schedule.
"We are very excited to announce the 2019 schedule," Bernthal said. " We face some different non-conference opponents than we typically match up against, and of course we will battle the standard Mid-American Conference foes as well. I am excited to see the team's growth over the course of the regular season—I believe it will prepare us well for the MAC tournament in Oxford."
The Cardinals will face five teams from the Big Ten this season — Rutgers (Aug. 31), Indiana (Sept. 8), Northwestern (Sept. 16), Michigan State (Sept. 22) and Michigan (Oct. 13).
Ball State will host four home contests at Briner Sports Complex and one scrimmage against Indiana August 17 at 3 p.m. The Cardinals home opener will be against Saint Louis on Sept. 6 at 3 p.m.
Ball State will welcome three MAC opponents to campus - Central Michigan (Sept. 28), Kent State (Oct. 4) and Appalachian State (Nov. 1).
For the second straight season, the Cardinals will play their MAC Tournament at Miami University (Nov. 6 - Nov. 9).
The Ball State field hockey team officially reports to campus for its fall camp Monday, August 12.
