JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - - Battling some of the toughest competition in the country, Ball State track and field sprinters Bryeana Byrdsong and MaQuila Norman turned in a pair of strong performances Thursday evening in the first round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships held at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
Â
A junior sprinter from Indianapolis, Indiana, Byrdsong was the first up for the Cardinals Thursday, taking 38th overall in the 100m with a time of 11.83.Â

Â
Byrdsong will get another opportunity to compete in regional competition Friday, when she steps in the blocks at 7:35 p.m. for the first round of the 200m.
