Swartz Named to COSIDA Academic All-District Team

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State men's volleyball senior Parker Swartz was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team on Thursday as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Swartz was an Academic All-MIVA selection this season with a 3.98 GPA and also earned All-MIVA Second Team honors for his play on the court. Swartz had a big year for BSU, playing a team-high 115 sets. During those sets, he tallied 143 kills on an impressive hitting percentage of .473. Swartz was second on the team in blocks with 77 and also added 49 digs, 24 aces and 10 assists.
The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.
Ball State competes in District 5 which is made up of Division I schools from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Swartz was one of only three DI men's volleyball players honored, and the only from District 5 and the MIVA. A list of honorees from the district is below.
