May 14, 2019 | Women's Volleyball
MUNCIE, Ind. - - For the second time in five years, the Ball State women's volleyball program boasts one of the nation's top recruiting classes according to PrepVolleyball.com.
The Cardinals' nine-member incoming freshman class has been listed as one of 25 programs earning "Highest Honorable Mention" accolades according to the website, which is the highest ranking outside the top 30. No other school from the Mid-American Conference has a team ranked in the top 55.
Set to join the program in the fall of 2019 are: Cailyn Bolser (Fairmount, Ind./Mississenewa), AléJa Culbreath (Avon, Ind./Avon), Allison Hamaker (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East), Maggie Huber (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy), MyKel Ivy (Muncie, Ind./Burris Laboratory School), Marie Plitt (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland), Natalie Mitchem (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook), Chloe Rickenbach (Avon, Ind./Avon) and Natalie Risi (Clarkston, Mich./Notre Dame Preparatory).
The last Ball State recruiting class to earn the "Highest Honorable Mention" honor was the 2015 incoming class which included Carly Cappello, Ellie Dunn, Emily Holland and Lauren Schreiner. The four capped their four-year playing careers this past fall after helping lead the Cardinals to back-to-back MAC West Division championships and a berth into the 2018 National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC).
