Women's Tennis Opens MAC Play This Weekend On The Road
March 20, 2019 | Women's Tennis
Last season, Ball State defeated Western Michigan in Muncie by a score of 4-3 but fell to Toledo at home, 5-2. Head coach Max Norris has a combined record of 8-4 against the two programs -- WMU (6-1), Toledo (2-3).
In just his sixth season, Norris is nearing the 100-win plateau (97-34). He is the only coach in program history to lead the Cardinals to MAC championships, both regular season and tournament, and to the NCAA Tournament (2016).
Ball State's 11 wins this spring have come by a combined score of 61-13, including a 7-0 sweep of Wright State in the non-conference finale. Audrey Berger is 9-2 in singles action, splitting time between the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, while Peyton Gollhofer owns the team's best singles mark at 10-1.
After this weekend, the Cardinals will continue their three-match road swing when they travel to Miami on Friday, March 29. They will return home to host Bowling Green on Sunday, March 31 at 1 p.m.
