MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football players have spent the past two months grinding through offseason workouts. Now the team gets to return to the football field for a month of scheduled team practices.
The first spring practice of 2019 is scheduled for this Thursday, March 14 at Scheumann Stadium from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The Cardinals will hold weekday practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., while Saturday practice times are slated for 10 a.m. to approximately noon. All practices will be held at Scheumann Stadium (weather permitting) and are open to the public. The opening practice on Thursday, March 14 has been canceled due to inclement weather. The annual Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. The complete spring practice schedule is listed here.
Ball State is led by fourth year head coach Mike Neu. The Cardinals return eight starters on offense and nine on defense from the 2018 roster. Key returnees include all-conference honorees Christian Albright (OLB), Malik Dunner (KR/WR), Justin Hall (WR), Riley Miller (WR) and Jacob White (ILB).
The football team opens its 2019 fall schedule with a home game against Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, Aug. 31.
