Ball State Makes Multiple Additions to Top-10 List on Day Three

AKRON, Ohio – The women of the Ball State swimming and diving team continued the trend of adding to the school's top-10 times list with multiple impressive performances on day three of the Mid-American Conference swimming and diving championships.
As a team, Ball State finds itself in eighth place heading into the final day of competition with 122 points. Akron continues to lead the way with 564.
Makenna Bottorff was the first addition to the list as she completed a 56.07 in the prelims of the 100 Fly, which was good for the eighth best time in school history. Sophie Bader was right behind her with a 56.08 for the ninth-fastest time.
It was a good night for the Bader family as Alex Bader followed her sister's performance by swimming the third-fastest 100 Breast time at Ball State by clocking in at 1:03.34. Alexa McDonald recorded the fifth best time at 1:03.51, and Abbie McCarter had the ninth fastest by clocking in at 1:04.73. Mason Dahman followed later with the fourth fastest at 1:03.41. Bader and Dahman's times moved them into the consolation finals later on in the meet.
The 100 Back proved to be another record-setting event for BSU as Audrey Schank notched a 55.75 for third fastest at Ball State, and Anne Vormohr took the seventh best time with a 56.49.
The night was capped off with the 400 Medley Relay in which Schank, Bader, Bader and McDonald swam the seventh-fastest time in school history at 3:48.62.
Caitlin Locante highlighted the diving portion of the day by scoring a 242.50 in the preliminaries of the 3M diving to advance to the consolation finals. In those finals, Locante finished eighth with a score of 240.10
The Cardinals will wrap up the MAC Championships on Saturday, looking to climb in the standings and post additional records and bests. Live updates can be found on Twitter.
