Five different Cardinals have multi-hit games against Cal St. Bakersfield
PHOENIX, Ariz. - After scoring three runs in the first two games of the season against top-tier competition, Ball State's bats exploded for crooked numbers in a 10-6 win over Cal State Bakersfield Saturday evening. The game, BSU's third of the season and second of the day, was played at Grand Canyon University.
Ball State (1-2) lost to GCU in the day's first game 12-2.
"The boys stayed the course to earn the split," head coach Rich Maloney said. "We got a lot of big two-out RBIs and a lot of different players contributed."
Noah Navarro, starting at second base this opening weekend after missing most of last year with an injury, led the day with five hits and three runs. He had three hits in the loss to GCU and then went 2-for-5 with a double and and scored twice as BSU earned its first win of the year.
