CLEVELAND, Ohio – Quarterback Drew Plitt put up outstanding numbers on the ground and through the air in the 41-27 season finale win over Miami on Nov. 29. He was honored by the Mid-American Conference Monday as the West Division Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in that game.
Plitt, a redshirt junior hailing from Loveland, Ohio, reached 300 yards passing for the first time this season against a MAC opponent as he finished 26-of-40 for 317 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions against Miami. He threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to wide receiver Yo'Heinz Tyler with 9:25 remaining to make the score 34-27. Plitt also rushed for a career-high 62 yards on 12 carries versus the MAC East Division champs.
For the season, Plitt piled up 2,918 passing yards, which ranks fifth on the Ball State single-season passing chart. His 24 touchdown passes are the most in the league. Meanwhile, he only threw one interception in the final five games.
