Subirats Completes WBB's 2020 Early Signing Class
November 25, 2019 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State head women's basketball coach Brady Sallee has announced the signing of its second player in the 2020 recruiting class, Ivet Subirats, a 5-9 versatilé wing player from Cerdanyola del Valles, Spain, which is located right outside of Barcelona. She will join early signee Cameron Grant (Macomb, Mich./Dakota High School) in the fall of 2020.
"What a way to end our early signing period," Sallee said. "It gives us a big guard that excels in the open floor and simply knows how to score! She plays with a great amount of passion and really knows the game. We believe she will impact our program immediately."
Subirats comes to Ball State after playing for the club CBF Cerdanyola and club Femeni Sant Adria. Last April, Subirats helped her club make history by becoming the first junior team since CBF Cerdanyola was founded to advance to Spain's junior championship. In 2018-19, Subirats helped her team to a third-place finish at the Catalonia Tournament, ninth at the National Tournament and was the leagues' third-highest scorer. Subirats closed out the 2018-19 season averaging 14.6 points per game and 27 minutes per contest.
In 2016-17, Subirats received third team Catalonia and placed 16th at the National Tournament. Her team earned third and fourth place finishes at the Catalonia Tournament in which Subirats was tabbed the Most Valuable Player. Subirats has also competed at the national level. She was chosen to play for the U15 Spanish National team in 2017.
According to GoGlobal recruiting Subirats was identified as the 16th best 2020 recruit in Europe.
