ABOUT AKRON (4-6-0, 1-1-0)
Like Ball State, the Zips split their conference-opening weekend with a loss to reigning MAC champ Bowling Green and a 2-0 win over Toledo. Akron finished nonconference pllay with a 3-5-0 mark and is led by three goals from Ashley Amato for the year. Three different goalkeepers have seen time this year for the Zips with Libby Harper seeing the majority of the time. She has 15 saves for the year.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cardinals own a 12-2-5 series advantage over Akron all time. Last year's meeting in Muncie saw the Cardinals claim a hard-fought, double overtime win when Kerrigan Johnson scored the game winning goal from close to 30 yards out.
ABOUT BUFFALO (4-4-1, 1-1-0)
The Bulls also went .500 on MAC opening weekend with the exact same results as Akron, a win against Toledo and loss to Bowling Green. Buffalo earned a 3-3-1 record before conference play began, claiming wins over Houston Baptist, St. Francis and Niagara. Marcy Barberic has three goals to lead the UB offense and Emily Kelly is the keeper, compiling 38 saves to date. Buffalo takes on Miami before Sunday's showdown with Ball State.
SERIES HISTORY
Ball State leads the series against Buffalo by a tally of 13-7-2. The Cardinals and Bulls met twice last season in both the regular season and MAC Tournament. Both contests were tightly contested as BSU took the regular season meeting, 1-0, with the only goal of the match being an own goal from Buffalo. The MAC quarterfinal went to double overtime before a Paula Guerrero free kick sent the Cardinals through to the semifinal.
BALL STATE QUICK HITS (7-3-0, 1-1-0)
#MACTION- League play continues this weekend as Ball State travels to take on Akron and Buffalo. The Cardinals split the opening weekend of conference play with a loss to Central Michigan and win against Eastern Michigan.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN- The journey to Akron and Buffalo will mark Ball State's third road trip of the season. The Cardinals are 1-2 away from Muncie in 2019 with a win at Omaha and losses at Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast.
BALANCED ATTACK- After Ball State's attack was led by just a few players in 2018, things are much more balanced this year. Grace Alsop, Nicky Potts and Tatiana Hawkins-Dabney all have four goals. There are also two players with four points, three with three points and three with two points. Four more players have a single point to their credit.
