• THE WEEK AHEAD: The Ball State women's volleyball program closes the first half of its 2019 Mid-American Conference schedule this weekend when it travels to Ohio Friday (7 p.m.) and Kent State Saturday (5 p.m.) ... After this weekend, the Cardinals will have played six of its first eight MAC matches on the road, the most of any team in the league this season.Â

In Friday's sweep of the Huskies, she smashed nine kills and hit .412 (9-2-17) ... She followed with a career-high 19 kills and connected at a .500 (19-4-30) clip in the four-set win over the Broncos.

In addition, Avila has collected 20-or-more digs in 41 career matches, which ranks fourth in program history ... The program record is 49 by Alyssa Rio (2007-2010).
