MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team will open its 2019 spring season on the road at Big Ten foe Indiana Sunday at noon.
The Cardinals will play three doubles and six singles matches Sunday. Last season, Ball State fell to the Hoosiers in Bloomington by a score of 6-1.Â
Ball State started the season strong against IU last year, taking the doubles point from the Hoosiers. Both of Ball State's winning duos return to the court this season for the Cardinals. Marko Guzina and Conner Andersen paired up last year for a 6-3 win on court two, as did Tom Carney and Chris Adams at the No. 3 slot.
Recently, the Cardinals were tabbed fourth in the 2019 preseason Mid-American Conference poll behind Western Michigan (1), Buffalo (2) and Northern Illinois (3) and ahead of Binghamton (5) and Toledo (6).
Ball State opens its home spring slate Sunday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. against Eastern Illinois at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
