Game Day Central: Ball State Set to Make Historic Trip to Notre Dame Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State and Notre Dame are 140 miles apart yet have never played each other in football. That will change this Saturday when the Cardinals make the trek north to try to knock off a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time since 2012.

Three Things to Know:
1. Ball State piled up a program record 652 yards of offense in the season opener against Central Connecticut State. The previous mark was set more than 40 years ago in 1977 against Cal Poly Ponoma (618).
2. This is the first meeting between the two programs. Notre Dame is 6-0 all-time against teams from the Mid-American Conference including a 52-17 win over Miami (Ohio) last year. The Irish have also faced Akron (once) and Western Michigan (three times).
