Ball State Continues State Tour This Week at Indiana

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team had a very impressive showing last week at No. 8 Notre Dame. The challenge for the Cardinals is to show that their performance last week was the standard, not just an exceptional one-game outing. This Saturday, Ball State travels to south to face Big Ten opponent Indiana.

Three Things to Know:
1. The Ball State defense racked up three interceptions last week at Notre Dame. The last time the Cardinals tallied at least three interceptions in a game was Oct. 25, 2014 in a 35-21 win over Akron.
2. Ball State has won three of the last four meetings in the series – 2008 (42-20), 2011 (27-20) and 2012 (41-39). Exactly six years ago on Sept. 15, 2012, K Steven Schott hit a 42-yard field goal as time expired to give the Cardinals the dramatic win. Indiana won the most recent meeting in 2016, 30-20. The only time the two teams have met in Muncie was 2006.
3. This is the fifth straight year the Cardinals have squared off against a Big Ten opponent. Ball State has lost four straight games to Big Ten foes, but the average margin of victory has been 5.5 points.
