Â
In her first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Lewis was one of only 11 high jumpers to successfully clear 1.78m which allowed her to tie for 10th overall and earn Second Team All-America accolades.
Â
"What an incredible season," head coach Brian Etelman said. "I am so proud of Regan for being reliable and a gamer all season long. A 10th-place national finish is quite an accomplishment."
Â
The three-time defending Mid-American Conference high jump champion, Lewis started off strong by clearing 1.73m on her second attempt. She was one of only 17 competitors to successfully clear the opening height, while two others passed on the mark.

"Regan was so close at 1.82m, which would have put her in the top four and possibly even allowed her to win a national championship," Etelman said. "I know this experience will prove invaluable and motivate her to be even better next year."
Â
Overall, only three competitors were able to clear 1.82m Saturday, with UT-Arlington's Alexus Henry doing so on her second attempt which helped her claim the title of NCAA Outdoor High Jump National Champion.
Â
With Lewis' 10th-place finish in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the 2018 season comes to a close for the Cardinals.
