Women’s Golf Moves up One Spot at MAC Championships

Cardinals set for final round Sunday in Naperville
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Ball State women's golf team improved by 12 strokes from round one to round two and moved up one spot to seventh place Saturday at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 309, led by a 74 from Manon Tounalom and a 77 from Morgan Nadaline. BSU also counted a pair of 79's from freshmen Emily Knouff and Liz Kim on day two at Naperville Country Club.
Ball State ranks second in the field this week in birdies as a team. At 630 (+54) through 36 holes, the Cardinals sit in seventh place with one round to play. Tounalom (+7) is tied for 12th individually, while Knouff is tied for 22nd.
Kent State (-9) extended its lead Saturday in colder, damp conditions. The 16th-ranked Golden Flashes, ranked 16th in the country, lead by 36 strokes over second-place Toledo (+27) entering Sunday's final round.
Kent State also features the top two players in the race for medalist honors. Pimnipa Panthong (-5) holds a two-shot lead over teammate Karoline Stormo (-3).
