Kim Leads Women’s Golf through Two Rounds at Purdue

Final round scheduled for Sunday with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Ball State freshman women's golfer Liz Kim came out strong Saturday with an opening-round 73 (+1) to find herself in the top 5 midway through the day at the Lady Boilermaker Classic.
Kim later carded a 78 in the afternoon round on the Ackerman-Allen Course and finds herself in a tie for 13th at 151 (+7) with Sunday's final round to play.
Ball State posted team rounds of 317 and 313 in the 6-count-4 format at this weekend's final tuneup for the MAC Championships. The Cardinals (+54) are sixth in a small but strong field that features three top-75 teams.
Texas Tech (+2) leads the way after day one, followed by the highest-ranked team in the field, Purdue (+13). Augusta (+24) is third.
Texas Tech also features the top two players through 36 holes in Mami Yamamoto (-2) and Gabby Barker (-1). They are the only two players under par.
Following Kim, the next Cardinals on the individual leaderboard are Manon Tounalom and Emily Knouff in a tie for 28th.
