The Ball State women's golf team is in Port St. Lucie, Florida, to host the Ball State Sunshine Invitational. The action gets underway Friday at 8:30 a.m. on the Dye Course at PGA Golf Club.

This year's event will follow a modified match play format. The five teams in the field each have six golfers competing. Each golfer will play three matches over two days, earning one point for winning a match and a half point for halving a match.

The tournament features two rounds Friday and one Saturday. The team that accumulates the most points at the end of the three rounds will be declared the champion.

The field also includes IUPUI, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Xavier.

The six Ball State golfers competing are Manon Tounalom, Liz Kim, Sydney Anderson, Morgan Nadaline, Emily Knouff and Holly Anderson.
