Women's Golf with Three in Top 30 at Rio Verde

Cardinals are in 11th place entering final round
RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- The Ball State women's golf team improved its score by eight shots Saturday but dropped a couple spots on the leaderboard at the Rio Verde Invitational.
Morgan Nadaline and Sydney Anderson led the way for the Cardinals with rounds of 76, while the team also counted rounds of 77 from Manon Tounalom and Liz Kim on the way to a team score of 306 for the day.
With a two-round total of 620, Ball State is 11th in the field of 17 teams on the Quail Run course at Rio Verde Country Club.
The Cardinals feature three players in the top 30, led by Tounalom (153) in 21st. Nadaline and Emily Knouff are tied for 28th at 154. A total of 97 golfers are competing.
Akron leads the way at 599 with one round left to play, while Seton Hall (603) and Arkansas State (603) are both within five shots of the lead.
The Zips' Danielle Nicholson holds the individual lead at even-par 144, one stroke ahead of Wichita State's Taryn Torgerson and Arkansas State's Sarah Childers.
The tournament's third and final round will be played Sunday.
