- Today's contest against the Tigers marks the third meeting all-time that the Cardinals have played Tennessee State.The all-time series record is tied, 1-1, between the two programs with Ball State winning its last meeting by a score of 85-65 last year in Nashville, Tenn.Â
- Entering tonight's contest, Brady Sallee owns a 65-29 (.690) overall record when playing in Worthen Arena. Sallee's best home stand was last season when the Cardinals went 15-3 in Muncie, Ind.
- The last time the Cardinals played at home on Dec. 21 was last season when Ball State defeated Western Kentucky, 93-81.
- The Cardinals have played on Dec. 21 every year since the 2013-14 season. Ball State owns a 3-2 record for the past five years on this date.Â
- Sophomore forward Oshlynn Brown earned Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week honors for her performance against Western Kentucky. This marked the first time in Brown's career have received the award. Brown led the Cardinals with a career best 25-point performance and added 10 rebounds for the eighth double-double of her career, as Ball State defeated WKU 86-83 last Sunday evening in E.A. Diddle Arena. Brown also shot 67 percent (8-of-12) from the field and 90 percent (9-of-10) from the free throw line.
- Ball State returned to its old ways when it out-rebounded Western Kentucky 32-28. The Cardinals also had their best shooting performance from the charity stripe, going to the line 40 times and converting on 31 of their free throws. Â
- Two Cardinals shot 90 percent (9-of-10) from the free throw line, sophomore forward Oshlynn Brown and classmate guard Maliah Howard-Bass.
- Sophomore guard Maliah Howard-Bass made her first start this season at Western Kentucky Sunday evening in E.A. Diddle Arena. Howard-Bass proved to be a good choice, scoring 17 points for the Cardinals, including two from behind the arc.
- Over the past seven years at Ball State, Brady Sallee owns an 8-4 overall record against the state of Tennessee:

- Tennessee State closes its non-conference action this evening against Ball State. The Tigers come to Muncie with an overall record of 0-11. Tennessee State recently dropped a 95-73 loss to No. 20 DePaul Monday night in McGrath Phillips Arena. The 72 points by the Lady Tigers was the most they have scored all season. Tennessee State has not faced any common opponents that Ball State has this season.
- Today's contest marks the fourth consecutive road trip for the Lady Tigers. Â
- The Lady Tigers have two players averaging double figures. Taylor Roberts leads the squad with 16.2 points per game while Tia Wooten scores 13.0 ppg per contest.
- This is the first time the Lady Tigers have played in Worthen Arena.Â
