Men’s Tennis Begins Fall Action This Weekend At Purdue

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team begins its fall schedule Friday, Oct. 5 in West Lafayette, Indiana at the Purdue Fall Invitational. The 3-Day tournament will feature 18 teams and will begin at 8 a.m. each day.
Joining the Cardinals and host Boilermakers are Army, Olivet Nazarene, Butler, IUPUI, Cardinal Stitch, DePaul, UWGB, Niagra, Marquette, Cleveland State, Purdue Northwest, Chicago State, Illinois State, Toledo and Wright State.
The tournament sites will be held at the Schwartz Tennis Center which has 12 outdoor courts and six indoor courts. The Purdue Rec Sports Center Tennis Courts will also be utilized during Friday and Saturday's competition.
There are 12 total flights six singles and six doubles. The pairings for this weekend's competition will be the Intercollegiate Tennis Association recommended NCAA singles and doubles format.
Purdue will tweet out scores from every match using its twitter account @purduemtennis and will tag each school in the tweet. The Boilermakers will also use the hashtag #PUInvite.
After the completion of the Purdue Fall Invite, the Ball State men's team will participate in four more invitationals; at the ITA Regionals in Knoxville, Tenn. (Oct. 11-Oct. 15), at Louisville Invitational (Oct. 19-Oct. 21), at Black and Gold Invitational (Oct. 26-28) before concluding fall play at the Mid-American Conference Indoor in Kalamazoo, Mich. (Nov. 9-Nov. 11).
