Ben Chinnici Named MIVA Offensive Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced Ball State's Ben Chinnici as this week's Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday morning.
The freshman earns his first ever MIVA award for his performances in the opening weekend action against Lees-McRae and Emmanuel College. In his collegiate debut, Chinnici knocked down 16 kills for an impressive .609 hitting percentage. He also added seven digs, one assist, and one block in the 3-0 victory.
In the sweep of Emmanuel on Saturday (Jan. 6) evening, Chinnici led the Cardinals with 12 kills. In that contest, he also had a .455 hitting percentage, four digs and one assist.
The outside attacker finished the weekend with a .533 hitting percentage, 4.67 kills per set and 1.83 digs per set.
Chinnici and the rest of the Cardinal squad return to action this weekend to take on big time opponents No. 6 BYU and Stanford.
