January 09, 2018 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – Former Ball State football player Reggie McGee is one of 10 Mid-American Conference players set to play in this weekend's SPIRAL Tropical Bowl in Daytona Beach, Florida. The game will be played on Sunday, Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
McGee, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, saw action in 11 games with four starts at defensive end for the Cardinals in his senior season this past fall. He tallied a season-high four stops, along with a fumble recovery in the win over UAB on Sept. 9. In his final game with Ball State, McGee recorded three tackles against Miami on Nov. 21.
McGee has been placed on the National Team (blue), which is being coached by award winning 18-year NFL veteran coach Mike Stock, formerly of the Green Bay Packers.
Since 2016, more than 110 players from this game have gone on to the NFL, CFL and pro arena leagues. The Tropical Bowl is considered a top four bowl game by scouts and is attended by almost every NFL team by either a scout or general manager.
