Nadaline Leads Women’s Golf on Cardinal Classic Day One

Cardinals 10th of 19 teams with Tuesday’s final round remaining
WEATHER UPDATE: The start of Tuesday's final round is delayed one hour because of rain and lightning. Play is now scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
YORKTOWN, Ind. -- Morgan Nadaline opened her day with a birdie, played bogey-free for her first 16 holes and ended Monday's two rounds under par to lead the Ball State women's golf team at the Cardinal Classic.
Nadaline, a senior from Anderson, carded a 2-under par 70 in the morning round at The Players Club and backed it up with a 73 in the afternoon. With a 36-hole total of 143 (-1), she sits seventh out of 100 golfers on the individual leaderboard.
Ball State posted a two-round total of 603 (+27) as a team to find itself tied for 10th place out of 19 teams with one round to play. The final 18 holes are scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday.
The University of Indianapolis grabbed the lead early in the opening round and held it throughout the day. The Greyhounds are seven shots clear of the field with a score of 569 (-7). Bradley (E) is second, followed by Toledo (+4) in third.
Akron's Jacinta Pikunas holds the individual lead at 6 under par after rounds of 66 and 72. Her opening 66 matched the tournament record accomplished most recently by Eastern Michigan's Kelsey Murphy in 2015. Pikunas will enter the final round with a three-shot lead over UIndy's Kennedy Holtsclaw.
Sophomore Manon Tounalom is the second Ball State player on the leaderboard at in a tie for 26th place at 5 over par. Reece Malapit (T44) and Emily Knouff (T54), both competing as individuals, had the team's next best scores of the day.
