Men’s Tennis Wraps Up A Successful Weekend At Purdue Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend at the Purdue Fall Invitational on Sunday after four Cardinals had reached the finals of their respective singles draws but only one managed to walk away with championship.

"Overall we had a pretty good weekend going 28-15 in singles and 11-7 in doubles," Ball State head men's tennis coach Bill Richards said. "Putting four guys in the finals was a good effort. This was a good start for us and gives us a good base of match play which is exactly what we need at this time of year. We were able to give all 13 players a chance to play so that was very productive."

Jan Jirus won the Flight C singles bracket after downing Adrian Mag from Butler in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The Ball State men's tennis team continues its fall season when the Cardinals travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Invitational, Oct. 13-15.
