Four Men’s Tennis Players Advance To Singles Championship Match At Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team wrapped up its second day at the Purdue Fall Invitational on Saturday with four Cardinals advancing to the championship match in their respective singles flights.
In Flight A, Nemanja Guzina played his semifinal round against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's Florian Kraenzier. Guzina won the match in a three set thriller over Kraenzier, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Guzina will now play Mathew Terry of CSU in the championship match Sunday.
Additionally, Jan Jirus advanced in the Flight C bracket after his three set defeat over Cameron Petersen of Illinois State while teammate and newcomer Bryce Bonin prevailed to the final after beating Washington University's Radha Vishnubhotla, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Alec Robillard was the last Cardinal to make it to the singles championship round in Flight F.
The doubles portion of the Boilermakers Invitational wrapped up today with the Ball State doubles tandem of Tom Carney and Luke Wiese earning a spot in the semifinal Flight C bracket. The twosome would end up suffering a 6-3 loss to Butler.
