Big Ten Network to Televise Football Season Opener at Illinois

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team now knows exactly when its 2017 season will officially kick off. The Big Ten Network will televise Ball State's opener at Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 2 beginning at noon ET.
This will be the second meeting between the two programs. Illinois won the only other meeting on Oct. 27, 2007 by a score of 28-17. Ball State went on to win the MAC West in 2007 and play in the International Bowl against Rutgers.
Since 2010, the Cardinals have played seven games against Big Ten opponents. Ball State has faced Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, and Purdue in that time frame.
Ball State's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9 against UAB. The Family Weekend game is Sept. 16 versus Tennessee Tech. Ball State's Homecoming game is Saturday, Oct. 21 against Central Michigan.
