Conner Andersen Named MAC Male Scholar Athlete Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ball State men's tennis sophomore Conner Andersen was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of January 30th - February 6th.
Andersen an accountant major who currently owns a 3.955 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale, captured a three-set thriller over Michigan State's Ivan Rakic last Saturday afternoon in Muncie.Â
Andersen, who has competed against Big Ten opponents in each of the last three weeks, took the early lead over Rakic by winning the first set 7-6 (4). Andersen then fell 6-3 in the second, before rallying to win the third 6-4 for the victory on court five.Â
The Ball State men's tennis team hosts Detroit and Indiana University Southeast on Saturday with the first match beginning at 1 p.m. against the Titans and the second match is set for a 5 p.m. first serve at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
