• Ball State returns to Worthen Arena to play the first of three remaining regular-season home games Friday against Ohio. The game will tip at 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Cardinals will then play four of their final six on the road, all against MAC West Division opponents.

• Friday's game features two teams that are part of a five-way tie for the second place in the overall MAC standings at 6-5. The Cardinals share the MAC West Division lead, while Ohio is tied for second behind Akron in the East Division.

• Ball State is coming off a 65-63, buzzer-beating loss Tuesday at Akron. Zips big man Isaiah Johnson nailed a 17-footer in the final second as Akron prevailed to maintain the nation's second-longest home court winning streak at 29 games.

• Senior forward Franko House led Ball State with 18 points against the Zips and is averaging 19.2 per game over the past five. Senior wing Ryan Weber added 16 points to move within 19 of reaching 1,000 for his career.

• Sophomore point guard Tayler Persons had a streak of 12 straight double-figure scoring games snapped at Akron. Persons is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game in conference play, while House is right behind him at 16.0.

• With 205 3-pointers, Ball State has topped 200 treys in three straight seasons for the first time in school history. The Cardinals made 234 3's in 2014-15 and 305 last season.

• Ohio is coming off a 97-87 loss to Central Michigan. The Bobcats are the only MAC team to defeat first-place Akron this season, beating the Zips 85-70 last week. Point guard Jaaron Simmons leads Ohio at 15.3 points and 7.0 assists per game.
