Cardinal Notes:
• The Ball State women's basketball team returns home for the first time in a week when it faces its third-straight Mid-American Conference cross-division match-up Bowling Green, Wednesday night in Worthen Arena at 7 p.m. The Cardinals remained undefeated (6-0) against the MAC East Division Saturday after posting an 81-60 victory at Miami in Millett Hall. So far Ball State has defeated MAC East opponents, Akron twice, Kent State, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Miami.
• For the second-straight game, sophomore guard Destiny Washington was the spark the Cardinals needed at Miami Saturday coming off the bench and leading the Cardinals in scoring with 21 points while also adding six boards. Earlier in the week, Washington had scored a career best 25 points in a 90-63 win at Akron.
• Bowling Green comes to Worthen Arena with a 6-16 overall record and a 2-8 MAC ledger. The Falcons fell to the Cardinals 75-53 in their first meeting on Jan. 21 in Bowling Green. After six game losing skid the Falcons were able to pull off an 86-50 win over Akron Saturday in the Stroh Center.
• Wednesday's game against the Falcons will mark the 65th time in program history the two schools have met with Bowling Green leading the all-time series 44-20. In the two schools last meeting, Ball State defeated Bowling Green 75-53 this season in Stroh Arena. In 2014-15, Ball State opened its MAC season at Bowling Green earning a 62-50 victory. The win against the Falcons was the first time the Cardinals had defeated Bowling Green on the road in MAC regular season since 2003-04. It also marked the first time Ball State had defeated Bowling Green back-to-back games since 2002-04. The Cardinals have won their last five contests against the Falcons.
• Saturday's game against Ohio at 2 p.m. in Worthen Arena will be the Cardinals Play4Kay game. Play 4Kay unites a nation of coaches and players for a greater cause – raise awareness and funds in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Ball State has provided this link for fans to donate . The Cardinals will also give away Cold Activated Pink Stadium Cups to the first 100 fans.
