Women’s Golf Seventh after Rio Verde Day 1

Allison Lindley paces Cardinals on tournament’s opening day

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Allison Lindley led the Ball State women's golf team Friday with 75 (+3) in the opening round of the Rio Verde Invitational.
Lindley is tied for 17th individually, while the Cardinals are seventh in the 19-team field on the White Wing Course at Rio Verde Country Club. Ball State's first-round score of 308 (+20) also included a 76 from Morgan Nadaline, a 78 from Kelsey Sear and a 79 from Manon Tounalom.
UMKC holds a five-stroke edge on the team leaderboard after opening with a round of 295 (+7). Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan are tied for second at 300 (+12).
Chandler Gallagher of UMKC holds a one-stroke advantage on the individual leaderboard after a round of 69 (-3).
The tournament continues with 18 holes Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m. MT (10:30 ET). The final round will be played Sunday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
