Women’s Swimming and Diving Completes First Two Days of MAC Championships

OXFORD, Ohio – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team finished the first two days of the Mid-American Conference Championships Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the eight teams competed in the championship heats for the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay. In the 200 medley relay, Anne Vormohr, Amanda Kedzierski, Andrea Richter and Jessica Extine teamed up to clock a time of 1:42.12. Kedzierski also competed in the 800 freestyle relay along with Sophia Bader, Lauren Elston and Elizabeth Madison. Ball State touched the wall at 7:35.00 in the 800 free.
On Thursday, Jessica Extine qualified in the 50 freestyle. Extine earned a time of 23.45 in the finals. Extine then teamed up with Peighton Gilbert, Bader and Vormohr to record a time of 1:34.11 in the 200 freestyle relay. On the diving board, Rachel Smallwood earned a score of 243.60 in the 1-meter dive.
The teams will continue action tomorrow in Oxford. Doors open for the prelims at 10 a.m while doors for the evening session will open at 6:00 p.m.
