Cardinal Notes:
• The Ball State women's basketball team continues its two-game road swing when it travels to Western Michigan Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff in University Arena. With only four games remaining in Mid-American Conference regular season play, the Cardinals earned a pivotal road win Saturday afternoon after defeating Northern Illinois by a score of 92-84 in the Convocation Center. With the win, Ball State improved to 18-8 overall and 11-3 in the MAC while Northern Illinois fell to 18-7 and 11-3 in conference action. The Cardinals enter this week's league competition tied with the Huskies for second in the MAC West Division.
• Western Michigan is currently riding a two-game win streak heading into tonight's competition. The Broncos had a strong non-conference season with a 9-2 mark but has struggled during Mid-American Conference action. Western Michigan is currently 16-9 overall and owns a 7-7 MAC ledger. The Broncos have recently defeated Bowling Green (74-53) and Eastern Michigan (70-60).
• Wednesday's game against Western Michigan will mark the 78th time in program history the two schools have met with Ball State leading the series record, 40-35. In 2015-16, the Cardinals swept the Broncos winning 77-53 (Jan. 23) in Kalamazoo and then 60-54 (Feb. 20) in Worthen Arena. Ball State owns a 21-6 ledger over Western Michigan dating back to the 2004-05 season. Brady Sallee owns an 8-1 career record against the Broncos. The Cardinals won their first meeting over Western Michigan this year by a score of 61-56 in Worthen Arena on Jan. 7.
