Opening Tip                                      Â
• Ball State begins its second trip through the MAC West Division with a trip to Central Michigan. The Cardinals are 5-0 against the division this season, including a 98-83 victory over the Chippewas on Jan. 17 in Muncie.
Â
• Ball State sits alone in first place in the West Division. A quartet of teams, including Central Michigan, is one game back. BSU and CMU shared the division championship last season.
Â
• The Cardinals are coming off an 81-72 overtime victory at Northern Illinois. They trailed the whole way until a 19-0 run that included the final eight points of regulation and the first 11 points of the extra period.
Â
• Senior guard Ryan Weber led Ball State with 23 points against NIU and came within one of the school record with seven made 3-pointers. Weber also surpassed 1,000 points for his career, becoming the second Cardinal to reach the mark this season (Franko House). Weber scored 420 points in two years at Youngstown State and has 595 in two years at Ball State.
Â
• Central Michigan dropped two games last week, falling at Miami (81-76) and against Buffalo (99-93) at home. The Chippewas are third in the nation in scoring offense at 89.5 points per game. They feature the nation's leading scorer in Marcus Keene (29.8), while Braylon Rayson ranks 22nd nationally (20.7).
Â
• House, a senior forward, is five games away from tying the school record for games played in a career. Mike Spicer (1988-92) holds the record with 126. House ranks sixth on the games played list and fifth on the games started chart (105).
Â
• Sophomore center Trey Moses is coming off back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds over the past two games. Moses owns six double-doubles on the season, including four in the past nine games.
Â
Coming from Behind
• Ball State has come back from deficits of at least nine points to take the lead in each of the past three games.
• The Cardinals trailed by nine Feb. 7 at Akron and by 25 Feb. 10 against Ohio. They came back to take a one-point lead in both of those games before losing both by two.
• BSU trailed by 11 Feb. 14 at Northern Illinois before coming back to win in overtime.
Â
3-Point Barrage
• Ryan Weber's career-high seven 3-pointers Tuesday at NIU were part of the Cardinals' biggest 3-point shooting night of the season against a Division I opponent.
• The Cardinals' 14 made 3's and 36 attempts were their most this year against a D-I foe.
