
Women's Tennis Suffers 6-1 Loss At Cincinnati Sunday

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 setback on the road at Cincinnati Sunday afternoon. Prior to today's match, the Cardinals had won five-straight and now fall to 5-2 on the season.
The Bearcats took wins on the top two courts to take the doubles point from the Cardinals. The Ball State twosome of Carmen Blanco and Toni Ormond were competing against Harley Hutchison and Ali Miller on court three and had taking a 5-4 lead before the match went unfinished.
In singles play, Cincinnati took five of the six from Ball State. Audrey Berger managed the lone point for Ball State after her three set thriller on court five over Anna Philip. Berger took the first set 6-3 but fell in the second 6-4. She then defeated Philip after winning the last set 6-4.
Two other Cardinals put up good fights but fell short. Carmen Blanco and Rebecca Herrington both lost their respective matches in three sets.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues spring play when it hosts Evansville Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
